These terms cover your use of Travel Fetcher. Please read them — the section on what happens when a handoff does not occur decides where your money goes.
We are a marketplace. We introduce someone who wants an item to someone already travelling who is willing to carry it, and we hold the money until they meet.
We are not a courier, a shipping company, a freight forwarder or an importer. We do not carry anything ourselves, we do not clear anything through customs on anyone's behalf, and we do not take possession of any item at any point.
Items are carried for personal use. Travel Fetcher is not for commercial quantities or for resale.
The items you may and may not request or carry are listed at what can be carried. That list is enforced, and accepting a Fetch that breaks it can cost you your account.
The buyer pays into escrow before the traveller buys anything. Every charge is shown before payment. Escrow releases to the traveller after the handoff is confirmed with the buyer's one-time code and the 24-hour window has passed.
The traveller pays for the item out of their own pocket and is reimbursed at handoff. The platform fee is only kept where a Fetch completes.
One rule decides every outcome, and it is not a judgement call:
Handoff confirmed — the traveller is paid in full.
No handoff — the item cost goes to whoever paid for it, and the fees go back to the buyer.
Whoever paid for it is settled by the receipt, which a traveller must upload before a Fetch can move to purchased. A receipt means the traveller spent their own money and gets it back. No receipt means nothing was spent and the buyer is made whole.
This applies to customs seizure too. The traveller's account is not penalised, but the money follows the same rule.
We do not guarantee that an item will arrive, arrive on time, or arrive in any particular condition. We do not compensate a loss out of our own funds. We hold money and release it under the rule above. That is a custodial duty, not responsibility for the outcome.
Both sides rate each other after a Fetch. Repeated violations, or disputes decided against you, can mean warnings, loss of badges, suspension or removal.
